“90 Day Fiance” fans are upset over Yara stepping out to shop during Hurricane Ida. Her social media followers suggested that the reality TV star should be donating during a challenging time, instead.
The effects of the hurricane started to gain force on August 29th. Yara and her husband Jovi Dufren left their hometown Louisiana to be in a safer location. The couple is presently in Dallas, Texas with baby Mylah.
’90 Day Fiance’ Fans React On Yara Splurging
Yara showed off her followers the line outside the luxury store, Louis Vuitton on her Instagram Story. Her IG followers were quick to comment on her insensitive behavior and DMed her about it.
Yara posted a screenshot of one critical DM on her IG story. “So many messages like this”, captioned Yara with a facepalm emoji in an IG story featuring the fan’s critical DM.
The screenshot of the fan’s DM read, “Why are you spending money on this when you could [lose] your home? There are people’s lives being destroyed by the hurricane. Maybe you should donate money.”
Yara Defends Her Shopping Spree
In addition to the fan’s critical DM post, Yara defended her action She wrote, “I do donate money. And I work hard and can buy myself whatever I want.”
Initially, Yara posted an IG Story with her husband Jovi after the shopping trip. In that post with Jovi, Yara explains her shopping spree was a form of retail therapy.
“Because I’m just, I don’t know, I just see what’s going on there in Louisiana and I’m all day so much worry.” She said, “I didn’t even eat yet. I just feel like I wanna come to the restaurant now, I need to eat something. I was thinking shopping will make me feel better and it’s not,” she said in an IG Story.
Yara and Jovi’s Heart Is In The Right Place
Jovi, Yara’s husband, is a Louisiana native. He is active on Instagram spreading awareness on the after-effects of the hurricane in his hometown.
Furthermore, the reality star Jovi posted a message on his IG story saying he wants to do “anything [he] can” to provide relief to the residents after Hurricane Ida. In addition, Jovi posted an IG photo of himself with a heart-felt message.
The popular couple has the best interest of their hometown in their minds and hearts. Moreover, not all fans think Yara and Jovi are insensitive.
On Yara’s latest IG post a fan commented, “Glad y’all are safe. Jovi is doing a great job at being Louisiana Proud and volunteering to help his community.”
