Jenny Slatten showed off her cooking skills on 90 Day Fiance by cooking Sumit’s favorite kheer.
She may not have come across as an ideal future daughter-in-law for Sumit’s parents on 90 Day Fiance, Jenny Slatten is an ace in the kitchen. While quarantining together, Sumit thought his American lover quite a few kitchen tricks. The recently aired episode cooked up a literal storm with Sumit’s Indian parents arriving at his house, the kheer Jenny served is garnering more attention.
Its been a long, tedious journey for Sumit, 31, and Jenny, 62, with the first season revolving around the Palm Springs native packing her bags and heading to India for a second time to be with Sumit, who catfished her before. She finds out that Sumit was already married and living a dual life before flying back home.
She returned to Sumit in this season after he got a divorce. Still, Sumit hasn’t been able to convince his parents to accept Jenny as their daughter-in-law since his father, and mother isn’t pleased about Jenny being twice his age.
Despite their objection, Jenny is leaving no stone unturned in a bid to mend things. The American grandma has been trying hard to master her kheer in the kitchen. In the latest 90 Day Fiance episode, Jenny is seen chopping nuts for a dish her lover’s mother always made for him.
“Tell me if it’s too sweet,” she tells Sumit. “Everything is perfect,” Sumit replied. Kheer alludes to a quintessential dessert that’s flavored with cardamom, rose water, and nuts. It is ideally served in India after finishing off a meal. “The rice is first lightly fried in ghee before boiling with sweetened milk until thickened,” according to Dawn.
Jenny’s attempt to make kheer is perhaps a move forward to sweetening her ties with her miffed future mother-in-law. Although Sumit’s parents, Anil and Sahna did not approve of their son’s lover initially, who knows, they might have a change of heart after tasting Jenny’s kheer.
