Razina, mother of Wajid Khan has tested COVID-19 positive. The popular music composer and singer died of a cardiac arrest on Jun. 1 at Mumbai hospital and if reports doing the rounds online are anything to go by, his mother was present at the hospital to take care of her son who was under the weather.
Sources told ABP News that “Wajid’s mother Razina had already contracted coronavirus before the late musician was infected with the virus. Wajid, who was suffering from kidney and throat infection, tested positive for COVID-19 later.” The source also stated that “Sajid-Wajid’s mother is better now and her condition has improved. She stayed in Surana Sethia hospital to take care of her ailing son. However, she contracted Covid-19 after she came in contact with other coronavirus patients at the hospital.”
In an interview with PTI, Sajid Khan said his brother Wajid had underlying kidney issues and also confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. He was laid to rest at Versova cemetery on Jun. 1 with family members and close friends in attendance.
“He was buried around 1 pm. Because of the lockdown and COVID issue, only 20 people were allowed for the funeral. There were police security and barricades in place. Only close family, including brother Sajid and friends from the industry, were present,” a source close to Wajid told PTI.
Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan have expressed their condolences to the family of the musician. Wajid composed Salman Khan’s recently unveiled songs entitled Pyaar Karona and Bhai Bhai, which the actor released on his YouTube channel.
