Queen Elizabeth II Was ‘Very Hurt’ When Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Decided To Quit Royal Duties

Queen Elizabeth II was “very hurt” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit royal duties, according to a bombshell new book.

According to a new book, Queen Elizabeth II was “exhausted” and “very hurt” when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their decision to walk away from royal life.

Moreover, the turmoil caused due to their decision to quit royal duties took a toll on Queen Elizabeth II. She reportedly confided in a friend she was “very hurt” over the couple’s exit from the royal family.

Author Katie Nicholl claims the late monarch was “exhausted by the turmoil of their decision” in her upcoming book “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown.”

“She was very hurt,” a confidante of the Queen claimed. Moreover, the book suggests the 96-year-old told her friend: “I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore”.

The royal biography centers on the life, reign, and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. The book is slated to be released in October, according to a report by Sky News.

Queen Elizabeth II Was ‘Exhausted’ By The Turmoil Caused By Prince Harry, Meghan’s Exit From The Royal Family

Ms. Nicholl said “it was a source of sadness” to the Queen “that she got to see so little of Archie and Lilibet”. The royal author also claims that she was hurt that Harry and Meghan did not join her for a weekend at Balmoral in August when she had hosted a sleepover for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Some reports suggest Prince Harry and Meghan only spent 15 minutes with the Queen after returning to the UK for her Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

This was also the first time the late monarch met her great-granddaughter Lilibet. “It was a quick in-and-out job. It was all quite formal,” a source told The Sun at the time.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship with some royal family members haven’t been good since they left the UK and moved to the US.
