In an unfortunate turn of events, “Love After Lockup” star Alla Subbotina has passed away at the age of 31. Alla’s untimely death came less than a week after the reality TV star’s most recent release from prison.

Alla’s mother, Yelena Subbotina confirmed the news and cause of her death through a Facebook tribute post.

“Sadly, addiction won today. My beloved daughter, Alla passed away earlier today,” Yelena wrote.

“I’m more than sad about this and I hope she’s in a better place,” continued the grieving mother. “Addiction is an ugly disease and my daughter had been battling addiction for many years. Rest In Peace my forever daughter. We love you Allochka, and always will remember you forever.”

Yelena concluded the post in her native Russian with the heartfelt words, “You will live forever in our hearts”. Yelena posted the Facebook tribute on Saturday, August 7th.

Moreover, in another post, Alla’s father Dmitriy Subbotina shared funeral details.

Alla Subbotina: Heroin Addiction

Viewers of “Love After Lockup” will recollect that Alla was the first model who went to prison at a tender age after becoming addicted to heroin. The reality TV show documented her first release from prison back in the year 2017.

Alla was with her boyfriend James Christia at the time of her first release in 2017. She relapsed before the season ended and was in prison again.

After her initial release on July 4th, 2017, Alla was booked again on January 8, 2018. Furthermore, James explained that Alla was sentenced to prison for 24-31 months for possession of a controlled substance and various probation violations.

On Christmas Eve of 2019, the reality TV star was released. Sadly her freedom didn’t last long. Her final imprisonment began four weeks later for retail shoplifting.

Alla’s family was supportive and hopeful throughout all her prison sentences. But as anyone who’s ever lost a loved one to addiction knows, sometimes all the support in the world is not enough.

Alla and James Relationship

Notably, after her 2018 release, James admitted that he and Alla had broken up. Alternatively, James did not give up faith in Alla and his relationship. “We took some time apart,” James declared. “I’m still waiting for her.”

Death Of Tracy Wagaman: An Unfortunate Resemblance

News of Alla’s death comes just weeks after the passing of another “Love After Lockup” Season 2 star, Tracy Wagaman. Tracy had to battle addiction her entire adult life. The case of Alla and Tracy display unfortunate similarities.
