Kody Brown has been accused of causing the demise of the Brown family’s in Sister Wives season 16. However, some viewers of the hit TLC show think Meri Brown is as guilty as Kody.

Meri has been portrayed as the victim of her spiritual spouse’s neglect during her stint in Sister Wives. However, ardent viewers of the TLC show recall that Meri played a vital role in Kody’s flawed plural marriage.

To recall, Meri persuaded Kody to be polygamous and had a jealous relationship with fellow sister wives. So, it is barely surprising that Sister Wives fans think Meri is as guilty of ruining the family as Kody.

Meri & Kody Are Equally Guilty

Kody had adopted a “stay back and keep your distance” approach with his first three wives for quite some time now. He went on to cut himself off from Christine, Janelle, Meri, and their kids in season 16, spending most of his time with Robyn and her children.

Christine decided to divorce Kody, leading to the downfall of the Brown family. In the meantime, Kody did not remain a committed husband to his wives. However, Sister Wives fans claim Meri is also responsible for ruining the Brown family along with Kody, as per a report by ScreenRant.

In Sister Wife season 16, Meri revealed that she spent several months quarantined in her home alone due to Kody’s strict coronavirus rules. On top of that, Kody told Meri that they will never be anything more than friends, but she did not leave a stone to unturn in a bid to get back in Kody’s good graces.

However, some critics think Meri played a vital role in the deterioration of the Brown family. Her contribution to the controversial relationship between the four sister wives is notable.

A Reddit user claim that Meri “treated [her] sister wives as enemies and competition.”

Kody Isn’t Innocent Either

It is worth mentioning here that no Sister Wives fans are claiming that Kody isn’t accountable for neglecting Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. However, they feel the role of Meri in the downfall of plural marriage is equally significant.

Fans accuse Meri of failing to create a trusting relationship with her sister wives, Janelle and Christine. 

“Meri and Kody dated Robyn for a while without telling the other wives speaks to their equally toxic character,” one fan noted.

Furthermore, Meri planted the distrust seed between the Brown family members by going behind her sister wives’ backs.

Also, Meri convinced Kody to start a plural marriage. “Meri actively sought out wives for Kody and did initially convince him that polygamy was the way,” one commenter wrote.
