An expert suggests Prince Harry is on the verge of losing his royal status and adopting a celebrity persona with his wife Meghan Markle, as the couple sets up new lives in the United States.
After stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California with son, Archie Harrison. The couple has been warned about being subject to more privacy intrusion in the United States than in Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Royal expert Marlene Koenig deemed Harry’s decision to live in Los Angeles as “crazy” and warned that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will become mere celebrities rather than royals. “I think for Harry that is going to be difficult to swallow,” Ms. Koenig told Express.co.uk.
“They would have far more privacy living in Frogmore Cottage behind the fences at Windsor Great Park than they will ever have to live in a gated community in LA. Perhaps this is another stop before they make a final decision of where they want to set up home but I think LA is crazy.”
“They become celebrities as opposed to royal which is two different things,” she added.
If Prince Harry or Meghan Markle were in the U.K., they would have state department security, but they aren’t eligible for any of that because they are not in the country in any capacity as members of the Royal Family, Ms. Koenig explained.
Her comments come as royal experts suggest Harry gave up everything for Meghan. Making an appearance on the Channel 5 documentary, ‘Meghan & Harry: The New Revelations’, royal expert Emily Andrews opened up about how Harry had to give up his country.
“Harry has had to give up everything,” Ms. Andrews said. “He’s giving up his family, his homes, his country everything he’s ever known, and those military titles and Meghan’s right they meant so much to him.”
“And what about what Meghan has had to give up,” Narrator Jennifer Saayeng added.
Finding Freedom states Meghan told a close friend that she gave up her entire life for the royal family and was willing to do whatever it takes but things didn’t go as planned. Some countries and some families blame Meghan for Megxit.
