If rumors doing the rounds online are anything to go by, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are pitching a super-secret project for TV around Hollywood. After shifting to the United States, Variety cites sources that claim the couple has been shopping a project around Hollywood.
Regrettably, details about the aforesaid project is still few and far between. There’s no confirmation about what they have in mind, or if it would be a scripted or unscripted project. The rumor couldn’t be hinting at a possibility of Markle returning to her career as an actress, with her and Prince Harry allegedly serving as producers on the projects if it makes it to the television.
NBCUniversal is one of the several media companies that the rumor suggests has heard what the couple has in mind. It is worth noting here that Markle was part of the NBCUniversal for a long time, thanks to her role on Suits, where Prince Harry managed to visit his future wife without many people noticing.
The alleged meeting is said to have included NBCUniversal Content Studios chairman Bonnie Hammer, who has worked with Markle during her Suits days. While details about the TV project are still scarce, both do have some experience with Hollywood – Markle narrated a Disney+ film Elephant that premiered on the streamer in Apr. According to PEOPLE, Markle donated her fee for Elephant to the Elephants Without Borders charity.
Back in Apr. last year, news broke courtesy of Prince Harry and Meghan’s Instagram account that he was teaming up with Oprah Winfrey to co-create and co-executive produce a mental health series for Apple. Considering the couple’s experiments in showbiz in the years since Markle married Prince Harry, Apple and Disney seem like potential homes for a TV project, but details about whether or not they have been approached about a series from the couple are still scarce.
