Meghan Markel and Prince Harry had a plan to leave the Royal Family and move to the US before they stepped down as senior Royal Family members.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have started a slew of activities after they left the royals and moved to California last year. A representative for the duo revealed that they had purchased a home in Santa Barbara in July 2020, per Daily Star.
“They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbors, as well as them as a family,” a spokesperson said.
The ex-royals have been working independently. They are currently busy with various book deals and Netflix projects. A source close to the Markle family claims that the couple’s surprising announcement about stepping down from their Royal duties is a part of a “bigger plan”.
“Meghan should have known what it was like marrying into the royal family,” the family insider said. “I don’t know if this was all part of the bigger plan of things they talked about between them, but for Meghan to cause all the big waves in the royal family just to go back to a Hollywood career and break hundreds of years of traditions is unprecedented.”
The insider went on to say that Harry was in on Markle’s “plan” to return to the United States. “I don’t feel for Harry. I think he’s a part of it, too. They have to know what they’re doing,” the insider said.
“Meghan’s comments about suicide and mental health issues do not relate to the ordinary people who have those struggles,” the family insider said.
“People are out here starving, some people have just lost everything they’ve worked so hard for in life because of COVID-19.
“Don’t tell me you’re supposed to sympathize with the ones who really have issues when you have multi-million dollar problems. It’s laughable.”
Before becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Meghna was an actress from Los Angeles. According to Harry, his wife’s home state gives their two children opportunities he didn’t have as a young member of the Royal Family.
