Jeff Bezos handed the resignation of Amazon CEO to Andy Jassy on Monday but remains the company’s largest shareholder at 11%.

Having the title now of executive chairman Jeff Bezos will spend less time in the retail empire he built. Interestingly, even after stepping down, Bezos has become richer.

How did Bezos become richer? Pentagon announced it was going to cancel the $10 cloud computing contract with Microsoft which was approved under the presidentship of Donald Trump.

He was not a Bezos fan. This project will now go to amazon who is the master in cloud computing. Because of this move, Amazon stocks rose to 4.7%, which included a rise in Bezos wealth.

According to Bloomberg, Bezos ranked as the world’s richest person with an estimated wealth, $177 billion grew $211 billion on Tuesday.

Forbes estimated Amazon’s founder wealth grew because the business grew in the pandemic. Bezos is now $211 billion net worth. Musk is $163 billion.

On the personal front, Bezos and his wife announced earlier in 2019 that they will end their 25 years of marriage. The couple finalized their divorce officially in July same year.
