Zoya Akhtar’s unconventional movie that popularized the phrase “Apna time aayega” (our time will come), is headed to Oscars.
The film’s official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards has just been announced, and it is without an iota of doubt, a red-letter day for the team. Social media platforms are crammed with Gully Boy updates, while B-town celebs are all praises for the film.
The Time of India managed to get Ranveer’s reaction to this memorable moment. The actor, who plays the aspiring rapper Murad in the film said, “‘Gully Boy’ echoed the voice of the streets, it will always be one of my most personal films.”
As always, I will keep striving towards making the flag of Hindi cinema fly high. I’m very happy that the passionate hard work that our cast and crew put into creating ‘Gully Boy’ is reaping rewards,” the elated actor added.
