Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson opened up about her late friend, Princess Diana, and reflected on her sons’ choices in wives.
“She would be very proud of her sons and their wives,” the Duchess of York told People of Diana’s two sons with Prince Charles. “If she were sitting with me right now, I know she would say, ‘I am so proud of both of my boys and the wonderful wives they have chosen.’ Because each has got her own voice.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton are married for more than 10 years now while Prince Harry tied the knot with Meghan Markle in 2018.
“If she were sitting with me right now, I know she would say, ‘I am so proud of both of my boys and the wonderful wives they have chosen,'” Ferguson added. “Because each has got her own voice.”
“We were best friends from when she was 14 and I was 15,” she recalled. “She taught me so much of public life,” says the Duchess. “She was so brave. We used to have the most incredible time together.”
“We promised each other we would always be together — there was never any daylight between us,” she explained regarding her fell out before Diana’s death in 1997. “But everybody wanted that because we were so strong together. People want to break something so strong.”
