Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently working on Netflix’s animated series, which is titled “Pearl.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Productions announced on Wednesday that the upcoming animated series is created by Markle’s idea, which is focused on family.
The series will be inspired by a variety of women from history and revolve around a 12-year-old girl. While Markle will serve as an executive producer, Canadian filmmaker David Furnish, who had previously worked on movies such as “Rocketman” and “Sherlock Gnomes” will also serve as executive producer.
“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” Meghan said in a statement. “I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.”
Last year, Harry and Markle revealed that they had signed a multi-year deal with Netflix.
The deal consists of documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming. “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” Meghan and Harry told the Times in a statement, last year. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
