The new book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex dubbed “Finding Freedom” reveals that terrorists had kidnapped Meghan Markle during her princess training. The book gives us a brief glimpse of Meghan’s fraught the first few days as a new member of the Royal family.

Aside from that, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have made other revelations that were kept under the wraps for a long time. One of such revelations suggests the authors spoke with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, which doesn’t coincide with their earlier claims that they did not interview the couple for the book.

This important piece of details, which can be touted as the author’s acknowledgment has been placed at the back of the book where it is likely to be easily missed out. The recently released biography is plagued with controversies and has raised eyebrows for lauding and divulging very personal details about Harry, 35 and Meghan, 39.

Co-author of the controversial book Scobie appeared in an interview, claiming that the couple was never interviewed for the book and attributed the information to “many” friends who provided insights. The author’s note, on the contrary, acknowledges that the writers collaborated with the couple on the biography.

“We have spoken with close friends of Harry and Meghan, royal aides and palace staff (past and present), the charities and organizations they have built long-lasting relationships with and, when appropriate, the couple themselves,” the author’s note reads.

“In many instances, we have granted sources anonymity to allow freedom to candidly provide direct quotes without their names being attributed (either due to the sensitivity of roles or to protect careers).”

“Many individuals have also spoken to us on what is known as “on-background”, meaning the information from conversations can be used as guidance but no quotes repeated. In a few cases, conversations have been strictly off-the-record.”

The authors go on to explain that some of the scenes mentioned in the book have been personally witnessed while for others, they relied on the consistency of accounts the sources provided. Furthermore, they claim these sources are highly reliable. For more such updates, keep watching this space.
