Sister Wives star Kody Brown is raising questions over the practice of polygamy, wherein a person is allowed to have more than one wife or husband.

Kody Brown from Sister Wives has finally spoken out about polygamy, revealing whether he wants to continue practicing it. In Sister Wives‘ Sunday episode (via People), the reality TV personality opened up about his ex-wife Christine Brown’s dislike for plural marriage.

Moreover, Kody accused Christine of “living two lives” since she publicly promoted the practice, while privately wanting out. This made Kody “angry as hell.”

“When you really start getting honest, you start looking up to the heavens and going, ‘Geez, Father. You inspired me to do this,” Kody said during the one-on-one reunion special.

Why is it such a mess now?'” he added. “It really has set me on my heels and had me questioning the lifestyle itself. It’s a challenge.”

Kody Questions His Own Polygamy

During the one-on-one reunion special, host Sukanya Krishnan asks if he is questioning his own polygamy, the 52-year-old reality star says “Oh, hell yes — yes. I question it all the time.”

Later in the clip, Kody and the rest of his wives say they expect him to leave the plural marriage someday.

Christine wanted a way out of polygamy because she didn’t “believe” in it. However, Kody’s second wife Janelle Brown claims she still trusts the process.

Janelle, on the other hand, says she had to do some “soul searching” amid the pandemic to figure out whether or not she wants to continue practicing polygamy.

“If he doesn’t love plural marriage, what does he do?” Kody’s fourth wife Robyn Brown asks. “That’s three of us or all of us that he moves on from, and we’ve seen that in our culture.”

“We have seen that where a man decides he’s done living plural marriage and he leaves all of his wives or leaves all but one and he goes and starts a new life. He’s tired of it.”

Despite the lack of romance in her polygamous arrangement with Kody, Meri Brown sees the “the value” in staying. However, she isn’t sure if Kody still thinks plural marriage is worthwhile.

Referring to Kody’s possibility of abandoning the lifestyle, Meri says, “anybody can do whatever they want.”

“If he wants to give up, he can give up,” she continues. “If he wants to walk away, he can walk away.”
