Sister Wives star Christine Brown confessed that she was terrified after announcing her split from husband Kody Brown online last year.
Taking to social media, Christine Brown announced that she was leaving her husband Kody Brown. However, the Sister Wives star admitted that she was scared of drawing flak for announcing her split.
“When Mom first released the picture on Instagram, explaining that she had left, she was terrified. She was horrified,” Kody and Christine’s son Paedon Brown revealed on the latest episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast.
“She didn’t look at her Instagram,” he said. He added that “she didn’t look at her messages. She put it down as she drove for several hours, because she did not want the negative [sic].”
Much to her relief, Christine learned that a considerable number of her fans supported her decision to abandon the polygamous marriage with Kody.
“The second she opened her phone, she had blown up with, ‘Good for you, congratulations,’” Paedon continued.
“Nothing but positivity. It meant so much to her. Every little positive thing, every big positive thing — it all meant so much to her.”
Christine Announces Split From Kody Brown
In a November 2021 Instagram post, Christine revealed that she was no longer in a relationship with Kody. “Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” she wrote at the time.

“We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”
Aside from Christine, Kody is married to Meri, Janelle, and Robyn, with Christine being his third partner. To recall, the duo joined in a “spiritual union” in 1994.
Paedon, who grew up in polygamy, told host Kate Casey that he doesn’t want to follow in the footsteps of his dad and create the same family dynamic for himself.
“We are all super grateful for it,” he said about his siblings’ outlook on their unconventional upbringing.
“We have brothers and sisters. My mom didn’t have any sons but me. I have brothers because of it. I’m so grateful for polygamy, but it’s not the life I want. I honestly don’t believe in it.”
