Meghan Markle, who used to run a lifestyle blog named Tig before getting engaged with Prince Harry in 2017, is now all set to return as a blogger after six years.
The 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex has filed a U.S. Trademark and Patent Office to launch a “revamped” version of the blog, which will cover topics including food, cooking, recipes, travel, relationships, fashion, style, interior design, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, health, and wellness, as per The Cut.
Readers can expect Meghan Markle revamped blog to be launched by next week, as per NY Post.
The “Suits” actress shared her last post on Tig in April 2017, mentioning that “after close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig.”
“What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy,” she wrote at that time.
Markle added, “Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.’ Above all, don’t ever forget your worth – as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything.”
Meghan, before becoming a member of the British royal family, started the blog in 2014 and used it to share her experiences, inspirations, and recommendations on topics such as travel, food, fashion, and beauty.
However, when Meghan began dating Prince Harry in 2016, she gradually stopped updating the blog. In an Instagram post in April 2017, she announced that she was closing The Tig, citing the need to focus on her new role as a member of the royal family.
Meghan’s decision to shut down The Tig was likely due to the fact that as a royal, she would be expected to adhere to a strict code of conduct and maintain a level of privacy that would make it difficult for her to continue to share her personal experiences and opinions on such a public platform.
Additionally, being a member of the royal family comes with a significant amount of responsibilities, leaving her with limited time and energy to maintain the blog.
The couple has two children: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on May 6, 2019, in London, England. He is currently seventh in line to the British throne. Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021, in Santa Barbara, California.
Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname is Lilibet, and her late grandmother, Princess Diana. For more updates on the blog, keep watching this space.
