Extraction has turned out to be a massive success on Netflix and Chris Hemsworth attributes the film’s success to the fans.
Taking to his verified Instagram account last week, the 36-year-old Australian actor posted a video to express gratitude to the fans. “Hey what’s up guys? Hope you’re doing well. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that checked out Extraction. You’ve made it the #1 film on the planet right now,” he said in the video.
According to Netflix’s recently released statement, Extraction is on the verge of becoming its most-watched feature film premiere to date, Deadline reported. With people holed up in their homes with their loved ones, a large number of people are watching it.
“Extraction is well on its way to becoming the biggest-ever film premiere on Netflix — with a projected 90 million households getting in on the action in the first 4 weeks,” the streamer tweeted. “Thanks to everyone who watched so far!” A tweet on Netflix’s official Twitter read.

The action-drama revolves around Tyler Rake, a black-market mercenary who is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an international crime lord, who is currently in jail. The film is directed by Sam Hargrave, who was a part of major hit Captain America: Civil War as a stunt coordinator.
The script is written by Joe Russo, and his brother Anthony has produced the film. Extraction premiered on Apr. 24.
